Ampersand
Rosamund McCullain
Poetry

And.
The possibilities are endless
She flays her forehead with her fingernails
Just to get a little more sleep
Need rest and recuperation
But the snowdrops are out
And the daffodils peep up a little more daily
Even in this last gasp dusting of snow.
Ampersand.
It’s in its own word,
Me and you and her and us and them,
In it together,
In it together as the Earth heads towards
Bluebells, the sun will come again,
The warmth will come again,
Let our heads peep up a little more daily
And we will rise again.
